Robert S. Fisher, MD, PhD: Exploring Unanswered Questions in Epilepsy

As the understanding of epilepsy has evolved over the years, there are many fundamental questions that have yet to be answered. Robert S. Fisher, MD, PhD, Director of the Stanford Epilepsy Center, Stanford University, Fisher addressed some of the questions, explaining that there’s a lot of work left to be done and that epilepsy is far from an unsettled field.

Some of major questions Fisher spoke to include the scientific understanding of why there are different types of seizures in the brain; why seizures stop; and what’s causing an individuals’ seizures in many of the cases, among others.
