On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, an open letter from Barry J. Byrne, MD, PhD, chief medical advisor, Muscular Dystrophy Association, calls for the prioritization of persons with neuromuscular diseases as early candidates for the COVID-19 vaccination implementation, will go live on the site.

This week’s NeuroVoices features Brian Wainger, MD, PhD, assistant professor, Harvard Medical Center, principal investigator, Sean M. Healey & AMG Center for ALS, Massachusetts General Hospital, who discussed the phase 2 data of ezogabine, a drug which showed decreases of cortical and spinal motor neuron excitability in patients with ALS. He provided in-depth detail of the study, along with the history of ezogabine as a treatment for partial-onset seizures, and how motor neuron excitability can be studied in the future.

A conversation with Merit Cudkowicz, MD, chief, Neurology Department, director, Sean M. Healey & AMG Center for ALS, and director, Neurological Clinical Research Institute, will air during NeurologyLive's segment on the Medical World News channel this Thursday, December 24, 2020. Cudkowicz discussed the latest phase 3 data on NurOwn in the treatment of patients with ALS.
