The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) is preparing to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its annual meeting—set for May 27 to 29, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina—and it promises to be a milestone event. CMSC's CEO, Kathy Costello, CNRP, reflected on the organization’s evolution and shared insights into what makes this year’s meeting particularly special for clinicians, researchers, and allied health professionals dedicated to the care of patients with MS and related neuroimmune disorders.

Founded in 1986 by neurologists focused on MS clinical care, the CMSC has since grown into a multidisciplinary network of more than 250 member centers across the United States, encompassing more than 15,000 health care professionals. The annual meeting is both a reflection of the organization's legacy and growth as well as a platform to shape the future of comprehensive, team-based MS care.

"We are the premier North American event for healthcare professionals and researchers engaged in MS care and related disorders. If you are considering a conference in 2026, and you are involved in the care of people with MS and related conditions, this is the place for you to be in May of 2026."

  • Deep dives into the practical application of the McDonald Criteria for accurate diagnosis in clinical care.
  • A 3-part series of sessions on rare neuroimmune conditions, including neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD).
